FALL 2007

FROM YOUR AREA CHAIR:

Hello to all,

The upcoming assembly is October 12, 13, and 14, 2007.   Bill O., So Fl Area Delegate, will be our guest this assembly.  He has graciously agreed to facilitate our Area Inventory on Saturday from 4:30 – 6:00 pm as well as be our Saturday night Speaker.  As for the inventory, I received quite a few at the July assembly but have had very few trickle in since.  So that I can compile the results and have them ready for Bill, September 15, 2007 was the deadline.  This does not mean your Group’s thoughts cannot be heard.  The Saturday 4:30 – 6:00 inventory meeting is the time to speak up.

My challenge to increase attendance at Assemblies has been met with great enthusiasm.  I hope that it influences District meetings and most importantly, Home group business and group conscience meetings. As we grow in attendance at the Assemblies, our needs for meeting space will grow as well.  On Sunday morning, the Site and Agenda Committee will report on the hotel bids for our 2009-2010 Assemblies at which time we will vote on the location for those two years.  Also, the Treasurer will be presenting the 2008 budget for approval.

Finally, so that Service Coordinators and Officers and any other members of North Florida AA can visit your district meetings and functions, please email the day and time to our Webmaster.  He will add your meeting and function to the Schedule of Activities link.  Be sure to check the activities on a regular basis.

FROM YOUR DELEGATE:

I recently had the privilege of attending the Southeast Regional Forum in Biloxi, Mississippi along with the other delegates from the Southeast Region. During the conference I participated with several other delegates from the Southeast Region in the presentation of a workshop entitled "Principles Before Personalities".

I am continuing to travel to districts in our area and share my delegate report. I look forward to the opportunity to be invited to your district and share information regarding the recent 2007 General Service Conference and current information from your General Service Office.

I will also be attending the Area 15, South Florida Assembly from October 3-5, 2007. The following weekend Bill O., Delegate, Area 15 South Florida will be our guest at our October 2007 Assembly. Bill will facilitate our area inventory on Saturday afternoon and also be our guest speaker on Saturday night.

Thank you once again for the opportunity to serve as your delegate and I look forward to seeing you at our October Assembly.

  • ACCESSIBILITIES: This workshop will discuss how to get a signer for hearing impaired members of AA.
